Who We Are

The Iron Workers District Council of the Pacific Northwest is a regional council of the International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Iron Workers. We represent affiliated local unions throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska, Utah, and Montana.

Our Mission

Our mission is to support the men and women of the Iron Workers while helping grow safe, skilled, and productive union construction across the Pacific Northwest and surrounding areas. We advocate for our members, strengthen contractor partnerships, and invest in the future of the trade.

Commitment to Safety, Training & Skilled Labor

Safety is not optional — it is foundational to everything we do. Through rigorous apprenticeship programs, ongoing journeymen training, and a culture of safety on every jobsite, our members represent the highest standard of craft in the construction industry.

Regional Coverage

The District Council serves a broad multi-state region including Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Utah, and Alaska — representing thousands of professional Ironworkers who build the bridges, buildings, and infrastructure of the Pacific Northwest.

History of the District Council

The Iron Workers District Council of the Pacific Northwest has a long history of representing skilled craftsmen in the region's most challenging and important construction projects. From bridges and high-rises to industrial facilities and infrastructure, Ironworkers have built the foundation of the Pacific Northwest.

Through decades of advocacy, training, and collective action, the District Council has remained a strong voice for union labor — fighting for fair wages, safe working conditions, and the dignity of the skilled trades throughout the region.
